The RS-1A receiver heat shield is manufactured from POM, Acetal Copolymer Tepcon material. This not a simple ABS plastic resin material. The product is UL listed and has a heat distortion temperature of 110 degrees Celsius or 230 degrees Fahrenheit. The RS-2 is a concrete molded log heat shield that protects the receiver from heat and simply sits over top of the receiver. Receiver covers are intended to give the receiver a limited amount of protection from the heat, but is not designed to totally protect the receiver from flame or heat.
