My fireplace has been intermittently working for the last couple years. I didn't use it all summer long and when I tried to use it to get warm, it refused to light. I checked everything and couldn't get the pilot light to come back on and there was no manual pilot ignition on my fireplace. I bought this control module in the hopes that it was just something this simple... sure enough, it was. I was able to swap over the units 1 wire at a time and as soon as I was done, the fireplace came back to life. Saved me a $200 service call and waiting more than 2 months for the local shop to get to me.!
Our fireplace has been slowing losing the ability to reliably light to where I eventually opened it up to clean the ignitor to no avail. I put a meter to the sparker output of the control module and it wasn't putting out much power and what it did put it was all over the place so I ordered this module which was the same as I had before other than the new one has a "rev b" sticker on it. The replacement took less than 5 minutes to swap and the fireplace is now good as new.
I know nothing about fireplaces and this was a super easy part replacement. Maybe took 5 minutes. Our fireplace is back up and running!
