I struggled for years not having a fireplace and really wanting one and this is a perfect solution from my house! It looks realistic and makes the place so cozy!

The worst thing is the remote. It works well but it's wafer think and feels cheap. Others may like its size and lightness but I'd prefer something a little more substantial. Otherwise, this is a great fireplace. Lots of features although you'll probably find the settings that work for you and leave it there. Which is fine. I took some pics under different lighting. None of them do justice to the dancing flames though. It really is a pretty realistic fire. BTW, the heater fan does make some noise but the heater works great and it shuts off automatically when it hits your desired temperature and of course you can shut the heater off whenever you want. You can also vary the amount of internal lighting and the colour warmth of the light. I think Dimplex has the best electric fireplaces right now.

To me and my wife the Dimplex Revillusion Herringbone 36" is the most realistic of all the electric fireplaces that we saw except perhaps the Net Zero Fire. With that said, the NetZero doesn't come in a 36" model AND it's literally 4x the price. Additionally the NZF model warranty is very limited and short. We visited 3 fireplace stores and saw several different manufactures and products in person and barring the NetZero, this looks the most real. It gives you natural color selections and isn't just a TV inside a box projecting an image of a fire. It does pretty good presenting a 3rd image of a fire. The logs give off a real appearance even though they are made of a plastic like material and with the reflection and rolling flames, its the most real of the fakes. I only wired mine for the 120 V option. I can't says they give off a lot of heat, but the appearance was what we were looking for not, heat output. I haven't received any compensation nor fees for this review and can only say that my experience was outstanding!

I needed to replace an old 1983 Vermont Castings wood fireplace, I wanted a 240v unit to optimize heat output. The Ceramic heating element on this unit is very efficient and puts out a good amount of heat with relatively low amperage at 240v (twice as much heat at less cost than with 120v). Note I did have to knock out some bricks because this unit is deep and square and my opening was rectangular but it was worth the effort. Overall we are very happy with it. The flames look almost real, the settings are all we would ever use and the heat output (with 240v) is impressive for an electric (it is also very easy to wire). The one thing I would like to see improved is the quality of the remote control. It is toy grade plastic and the battery installation is very difficult to line up properly while closing the door and installing a screw. I had to hold the battery down with a small thin pocket knife while turning the screw in with my other hand at the same time. Thankfully if the remote should ever die there is a full control panel in the front of the fireplace. I needed the large surround to cover my repair work on the opening which makes the fireplace look even bigger which we like.

Looks ok. Blower is very good if a little noisy but to be expected. Miss the option of doors like the other fireplace we had that we replaced.

The best by far for a realistic electric fireplace I ever seen. Everyone is amazed it's actually not a gas flame. Although the heater works perfectly and puts off a fair amount of heat, the noise of the fan is very annoying. The product would be a perfect "10" if the fan speed was adjustable. It's hard to carry on a conversation or watch a movie in peace when the fan kicks on.

We wanted an alternative to our natural gas fireplace. Electric was a perfect choice. I love that it looks so realistic and you can have the heat on or off. Sometimes we just want the ambiance of a burning fire. We put our own crackling fire sound and just the look and sound make it feels cozy.
