Electric or gas? Electric infrared (Platinum, Tungsten Electric, Cobalt, Eclipse) is silent, has no flame or fumes, and is the only choice under a covered patio, pergola or awning; it needs a 240 V circuit (commercial 208/277 V versions exist).
